Terms and Conditions

 By engaging our services, you agree to abide by the terms and conditions outlined below. These terms apply to all transactions and interactions with Gecko Metalworks LTD, and by using our services, you acknowledge and accept them. 

Quotes & Pricing


  • Validity: All quotes provided by Gecko Metalworks Limited are valid for a period of 30 days from the date of receipt, unless otherwise stated. After this period, the quote may no longer be applicable, and new pricing or terms may apply. We reserve the right to change, update, or withdraw any quote at any time, at our sole discretion.


  • Errors: While we strive for accuracy in all quotes, in the event of an error, we are not liable for any discrepancies or miscalculations. If an error is discovered in the quoted price or terms, we will promptly inform the customer and work to provide a corrected quote.


Orders

  

  • Order Acceptance and Confirmation: Your order will not be considered accepted until you receive an official order confirmation from us. Until we issue this confirmation in writing, we reserve the right to decline the order.


  • Adding Items at a Later Date:  Once your order has been processed and you have received an order confirmation, we are unable to accommodate any additional items to that order. If you wish to purchase more items, you will need to place a new order. 


  • Order Cancellation: Orders accepted by Gecko Metalworks may only be cancelled at our discretion. By receiving an order confirmation, the Buyer acknowledges and waives the right to cancel the order. This is due to the fact that, materials for orders are often sourced upon confirmation, meaning cancellations after confirmation are not guaranteed. 


  • Proforma cancellation: Please note if you choose to cancel your proforma after payment has been received, there will be a £25 admin fee.


Finishing & Drawings

  • Finishing Specifications: The customer is required to specify the desired finish for any parts at the quoting and order confirmation stage. This includes, but is not limited to, options such as surface treatments, coatings, deburring or other finishing processes. If the finish is not specified at the time of quoting or order confirmation, we will assume that no specific finish is required, and the part will be provided in its standard form. No replacements or refunds will be provided for parts where the finish was not specified during the quoting and order confirmation stages. It is the customer's responsibility to ensure that all required finishes are clearly communicated at these stages.


  • Drawings/Illustrations: Unless otherwise specified in the quotation or order. Any design work/drawings created by Gecko Metalworks for illustration or manufacturing purposes shall remain the property of Gecko Metalworks.


Defective, Missing or Damaged Goods

 

  • Inspection and Reporting: Upon receipt of goods, it is the responsibility of the customer to thoroughly inspect the items. Any defects, damage, or missing parts must be reported to us within 48 hours of delivery. Failure to do so will forfeit any entitlement to reimbursement or replacement.


  • Initiating a Nonconformance Report: If you believe a part is defective or incorrect, we will initiate a Nonconformance Report (NCR) to thoroughly investigate the issue. This process involves a detailed inspection of the returned goods.


  • Return of Goods for Inspection: In the event that the goods need to be returned for inspection, we may request that you package the items securely and print a shipping label for collection by our courier service. The customer is responsible for ensuring the goods are properly packaged to prevent any further damage during return transit.


  • Patience During Investigation: Please allow us time to complete the investigation of the NCR. This process may take a few days, as we assess the issue and determine the appropriate course of action. We kindly ask for your patience during this period.


  • Modifications: We do not accept liability or offer reimbursement for goods that have been altered, modified, or worked on in any way after they have left our premises. This includes, but is not limited to, folding, welding, or any other form of modification. If a part is modified outside of our facility and later found to be defective, no reimbursement or replacement will be provided.


Stock Supplied Material

  

  • Tolerances: All materials are supplied within the tolerances set by our suppliers and BS Steel standards. These tolerances are generally acceptable for most fabrication processes. If the material falls within these tolerances, we do not offer refunds or reimbursements.  
  • We inspect all material on receipt from our suppliers and only accept materials in a good condition, within the tolerances expected. 

Free Issue Material

  •  Free Issue Acceptance: We do not accept free issue material until a purchase order has been received and accepted by Gecko Metalworks.


  • Accompanying Documentation: If you have decided to supply materials for your order, the customer must ensure that the material is accompanied by clear documentation, which should include the following details:

              ▷ The source of the material (who is it from?).

              ▷ The type or specification of the material.

              ▷ The quantity of the material.

              ▷ A copy of your original order that the material is intended to be used on.


  • Special Handling Requirements: If the material is of a special nature or requires extra care during handling, this must be communicated to us at the time of order. This will allow us to properly inspect the material for any damage and ensure appropriate measures are taken to prevent any issues during processing.


  • Material Handling: While we will handle all free issue material with care during processing, please note that we are not responsible for any damage, scratches, or imperfections that may occur. Particularly, if the material was supplied in a condition that is susceptible to such issues.


  • Storage: We do not store free issue material and this should be collected with the completion of the job.


Courier Services

  

  • Details: We use an external courier to deliver goods that are not local to us. This can cause delays or sometimes misplacement / damaged goods. If this occurs then we will contact the couriers to investigate ASAP. 


  • Delays: Any delivery dates quoted for your goods are approximate and we shall not be held liable for any delays in delivery.


  • Undelivered Items: We must follow the courier’s standard procedure for tracing missing shipments, which may take several days to complete. We kindly ask for your patience during this time, as finding lost or misplaced items can be a lengthy process.
  • Once the investigation is complete, and if the item is confirmed as lost, we will discuss the next steps with you. Please be aware that reimbursement or re-cutting of parts will only occur once the courier has fully concluded their investigation and confirmed the loss of shipment.

  

  • Attempted Delivery and Re-Delivery: Should delivery be attempted and unsuccessful, the Goods will be returned to us, and we reserve the right to charge for re-delivery.
